The first plenary session of GeoInt Asia 2015 conference with the theme ‘Geospatial enablers for Defence and Security’, was chaired Lt Gen Arun Sahni, UYSM, SM, VSM, GOC- in – C, South Western Command, who revealed how geospatial technology has reduced cost and improved economy and the kind of challenges that the country faces when it comes to technology like lack of public private partnership.
While giving his presentation at GeoInt Asia 2015, Rajan Aiyer, MD, Trimble, discussed the revolution of IT in the past 10 years and acknowledged that crowd-sourcing is taking the centre stage. “Positioning accuracy is an aphrodisiac,” said Aiyer, adding that geospatial workflows are homogenous.
Major Gen PK Vachher, ADG – Military Survey, MOGSGS stated that ‘digital technologies made the data creation simpler, faster and accurate’.
In his presentation at GeoInt Asia 2015 on ‘a dynamic world creates new intelligence challenges’, Brett Dixon, National Security Lead, APAC, Esri, emphasised on the importance of ‘integration’. “Without integration, the entire decision making process is compromised,” said Brett.
