NIA join hands with NRSC to map terror attack sites

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has signed memorandum of understanding with National remote sensing center (NRSC) to map a terror attack site. The agency will use Bhuvan Platform of NRSC for the purpose.

The MOU stipulates that both the NIA and NRSC will work together to develop an application for mobile phones and tablets, using which field investigators will annotate text, icon and drawing on the satellite images for accurate description of a scene.

The Mobile app will help to mark the entry or exit points of terrorists.

NIA investigators cited the attack on a BSF convoy at Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir last year, where the satellite image helped to explain the mountainous area in a better way to a judge.
