Dayton, Ohio – Research In Motion and TDC Group announced the 1st Annual GIS on BlackBerry awards. Coinciding with the ESRI International User Conference, the GIS on BlackBerry awards will recognise the best GIS applications using Freeance™ Mobile software on BlackBerry smartphones.
Win valuable award prizes including Freeance Mobile software and training, BlackBerry smartphones and Ricoh 500SE GPS enabled cameras. You have a chance to win accolades and fantastic prizes. And since the Wireless GIS Awards are part of the 2009 ESRI International User Conference, you’ll have opportunities to network, form new business relationships and be seen as a leader in wireless GIS technology.
A special award category – BlackBerry Beacon – is open to organizations who want to launch GIS on BlackBerry smartphones. Tell us how you want to mobilize your GIS to BlackBerry and you could win Freeance Mobile software and BlackBerry smartphones to make it happen. Implementation of Freeance Mobile software and BlackBerry smartphones is not necessary for the BlackBerry Beacon award category.
All entries are due by July 7, 2009. Award winners will be announced at the 2009 ESRI International User Conference.
The 2009 Wireless GIS on BlackBerry Awards Categories
Winners and finalists are chosen by a Selection Committee in each the following categories:
Winners of the categories for public safety, government and field services organizations will be selected on the criteria of most productive and innovative use of GIS on the BlackBerry platform. Applications may be in the implementation or full production stage. Applications must be deployed using BlackBerry smartphones, Freeance Mobile and ESRI ArcGIS® Server or ArcIMS® software. The award for the winner in each of these categories will be a Ricoh 500SE digital camera, five GPS enabled BlackBerry smartphones and BlackBerry accessories. Note: winner is require to activate BlackBerry smartphones with their carrier. Wireless service for BlackBerry smartphones is not included.
