World Bank Conference on land kicks off in Washington DC

Washington DC, US: The Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty has got off to a splendid start here with about 960 participants congregating to discuss the mechanisms countries can adopt to move towards transparent land governance with evidence-based next steps.

The four-day conference will discuss innovative approaches to follow up on recent global and regional initiatives, and the steps need to be taken to improve land governance at country level in a way that contributes to poverty reduction, gender equality and sustainable economic growth.
