Winners for Leadership in GEOBIM Practices announced

The Netherlands: The GEOBIM 2019 Awards were announced on 11th November 2019 at the GEOBIM 2019 conference held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. An exclusive platform for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industry, Geospatial and BIM community, the GEOBIM 2019 awards recognizes and celebrates organizations who continue to perform par excellence by implementing digital technologies across the construction workflow.

The award was presented by Tirza Van Daalen, Director General, TNO- Geological Survey, The Netherlands and Remko Lugten, Regional Director, Geospatial Media and Communications B.V.

Leadership in Architectural Practice – Grimshaw Architects for showcasing leadership in delivering lasting, meaningful designs that brings value to clients and users; characterized by their strong conceptual legibility, innovation and a rigorous approach to detailing, all underpinned by the principles of humane, enduring and sustainable design. The award was received by Aurelie De Boissieu, London Head of BIM, Grimshaw Architects, United Kingdom

 Leadership in Digital Innovation – SSOE Group – for showcasing leadership in using high-definition terrestrial and drone laser scanning methods to successfully deliver a complex project with a very constrained timeline without error, providing reality capture is the real deal. The award was presented for the VDC Gauntlet project and was received by Tony Sabat, AEC Technology Consultant, SSOE Group, USA.

Leadership in Design Engineering Sacyr Construction for showcasing leadership in innovating the digital engineering methods via Sacyr Tracking which allows the company to learn about yields, productions, progress and different ratios in large construction projects. The award was received by Joana Meneres Pimentel De Melo, Head of BIM Department and Alberto Avecilla Garcia, Strategic Program Manager, Sacyr Construction, Spain.

Leadership in Digital Construction – Multiplex for showcasing leadership in using BIM at every stage of the construction project, integrating best in class digital technologies or the expert management and use of construction data to radically improve the construction project delivery. The award was received by Vicki Reynolds, Digital Manager, Multiplex and Core Team at Women in BIM, United Kingdom.

 Most promising start-up in the AEC Industry – Airsquire for innovating and building AI-based digital solutions that automates the comparison of 3D designs and 3D scans of the built environment – enhancing as-built surveys to be 20X faster, and empowering project managers with a simpler, faster and cheaper as-built verification platform to progressively check quality and progress. The award was received by Kyle Tan, Cofounder and Hesh Fekry, Product and Sales Director, Airsquire.
