Weston acquires MEC Analytical Systems

For the realization of its new integrated GIS solution, the Public Utility of Bietigheim-Bissingen (SW BB) opted for the utility application ArcFM(tm) UT of AED-SICAD. In November 2005, SW BB commissioned BARAL Geohaus-Consulting AG, Reutlingen, with the general project management. BARAL is responsible for the services to integrate the reference data. The system implementation is going to be carried through within only six months, so that the new solution can be in productive use already by end of May 2006.

By means of the new, fully ArcGIS based application, SW BB will be able to capture, edit and use network information for electricity, gas, water, district heating as well as sewage infrastructure (with novaKANDIS from CADMAP) in an integrated way. For company-wide viewing purposes, SW BB is using the GIS Portal, die multi-purpose Internet platform of AED-SICAD. Target of the project is a uniform GIS environment within the Public Utility and the Municipality in order to obtain an even closer cooperation. Thus, communal geodata, like basemap or land use and green area maps can be used by SW BB and its network data integrated into the municipal information system.
AED-SICAD Aktiengesellschaft (AED-SICAD), Bonn/Munich, Germany, is a GIS application house in Europe, offering standard applications and tailor-made solutions. BARAL Geohaus-Consulting AG (BARAL) is a provider of system solutions in the field of GIS in Southern Germany.
