India: A website named ‘DOTS Delhi’ giving detailed information on TB for the convenience of patients by the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit.
Developed by the Delhi DOTS Program, the web portal has features like Geographical Information System (GIS), popular social interactive links, interesting games based on TB information etc.
“Around 86,000 lives of TB patients have been saved during last ten years. Death rate has come down from 22 per cent to 2 per cent whereas the success rate has jumped from 30 per cent to 87 per cent,” said Dikshit.
The government has been providing free diagnosis and treatment of TB at 585 DOTS Centres, 192 Quality Assured Laboratories and 24 Chest Clinics across the state.
The government has also been bringing awareness about precautions apart from disseminating a few tips for care of patients, said Health Minister Kiran Walia.
