Vision ME to prepare digital terrain model of Oman

Oman: Worley Parsons Oman Engineering LLC awarded a contract to Vision ME for an Aerial Survey project in the Musandam region, Sultanate of Oman. Vision will work with the company’s Omani partner, International Geomatics Services LLC, to acquire and create a high accuracy Digital Terrain Model (DTM) to support Worley Parsons Oman Engineering LLC in the design of a new overhead line in this mountainous region.

Worley Parsons is responsible for designing a new overhead line in Musandam for Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO). Vision’s aerial survey capabilities for this survey is the rapid and cost effective choice, as the route crosses some extremely difficult terrain in terms of access as it crosses the central mountain range in Musandam.

The airborne data collection will be executed in 2011 and the final deliverables will be provided early 2012. After winning several Aerial Survey projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, this contract confirms that Vision’s strategy to further expansion in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region has given results.
