Vietnam: VNREDSat-1, the Vietnamese remote sensing satellite has successfully completed its three-month trial operation in the orbit.
The satellite has been able to capture and transfer 7,799 images (panchromatic and multispectral). These include 735 images of Vietnamese territories. The exercise was mainly aimed at testing the calibration and evaluating the system’s performance. Now, the Vietnam Academy of Science & Technology (VAST) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment plan to use the satellite for monitoring natural resources, natural disasters and climate change.
