US city to add technology from Pictometry to its enterprise wide GIS

4 April 2006: Pictometry International Corporation, a provider of digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software, announced on April 3 that the City of Newark, New Jersey, US, will be adding its technology as part of the city’s enterprise wide GIS, called NEWGIN (Newark’s Geographic Information Network). NEWGIN enables the city to take critical data used in the day to day decision making process of government and display it against a geo-coded map of the city. Newark ‘s GIS platform includes ESRI’s ArcSDE and ArcIMS applications as well as Orion Technology’s OnPoint software.
