Uruguay develops geographic address model

Uruguay: Uruguay has developed a geographic addresses model, which allows implementation of geocoding services through a common scheme, achieving a high level interoperability of common objects and concepts. The model seeks to standardise institutional geographical information in a way to unambiguously locate addresses, thus reducing costs and minimising errors.

The new model has significant benefits including improved management and reduced costs for the institutions implementing it, plus inclusion of new geographic address-database services. The model aims to establish a common terminology and define specific metadata for directions.
