Taiwan: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan has lodged a protest against US-based Apple Inc. over its latest mapping application, the interface of which implies that Taiwan is part of China.

Local media recently found that in the iOS 7 iteration of Apple”s mapping service programme, Taiwan is designated as a province of China.

Moreover, if one searches for ‘Taiwan’ in the Chinese-language version of the mapping system, results will display ‘Taiwan, Province of People”s Republic of China’ written in simplified Chinese.
