Massachusetts, USA, 22 June 2007: Universal Mind announced that it has teamed up with ESRI and Adobe to create a new generation of rich Internet applications (RIAs) that leverage ESRI’s enterprise GIS platform and Adobe Flex software to make geographic analysis easy and enterprise wide.
Universal Mind, ESRI and Adobe are collaborating on a new generation of web-enabled GIS applications that leverage the best user experiences and technology from Adobe to bring a rich interactive GIS experience to common Internet browsers. Through the combined solution, Universal Mind is aimed at making geographic analysis data more accessible and easy to use, allowing business professionals and government decision makers to quickly and efficiently utilize geographic information to help solve critical issues.
The common architecture underlying these applications uses Adobe Flex 2 and Adobe LiveCycle Data Services. It combines server data from ArcGIS geodatabases, public geographic information from ArcWeb Services and ArcGIS Online with virtually any data from enterprise and legacy sources or other publicly available repositories available on the Internet.
One of such applications developed by Universal Mind is LaunchPad which is a web application framework built using Adobe Flex software and delivered to a standard browser. LaunchPad delivers the benefits of geographic analysis through cost effective, instantly deployable front-end capabilities to business professionals and government decision makers both on the Web and through corporate networks.
