UNISPACE+50 Symposium opens to mark 50 years of United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

A two-day UNISPACE+50 Symposium, aimed at the broader space community, opened on June 18 in Vienna, Germany. The event commences the fiftieth anniversary celebration of the first United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. It will also be an opportunity for the international community to gather and consider the future course of global space cooperation for the benefit of humankind.

Other than the symposium, a special UNISPACE+50 High-level Segment of the 61st session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) will take place from June 20 to June 21 June.

From June 22 to June 29, COPUOS will revert to its regular session.

In addition, a UNISPACE+50 exhibition consisting of around 40 exhibitors will be held in the Rotunda of the VIC from June 18 to June 23.
