US: UltiSat has received a contract of providing a satellite bandwidth for geospatial intelligence missions for the Defense Information Systems Agency Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DISA-DITCO).
The contract was awarded under the Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition (FCSA) Schedule 70 contract vehicle. According to the contract, the company will provide Ku-band bandwidth capacity to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Deployable Communications Systems (NDCS).
UltiSat programme director Steve Roth said: “We are excited to partner with the NGA to support their critical mission responding to worldwide crisis or conflict events.”
NGA delivers strategic intelligence that allows the president and national policymakers to make crucial decisions on counterterrorism, weapons of mass destruction and global political crises. It also enables the warfighter to plan missions, gain battlefield superiority, precisely target the adversary and protect the country’s military forces.
“We are excited to partner with the NGA to support their critical mission responding to worldwide crisis or conflict events.”
Additionally, NGA provides timely warnings to the warfighter and national decision makers by monitoring, analyzing and reporting imminent threats. The contract requires the company to provide Ku-band bandwidth and backhaul services in continental US (CONUS) and outside the continental US (OCONUS), in order to support NDCS GEOINT operations.
Roth further added: “Our ability to provide high-availability connectivity between the NGA’s communications systems deployed CONUS and OCONUS and the core network infrastructure is a key component to successfully delivering geospatial intelligence data. UltiSat is committed to helping NGA achieve its operational objectives.”
