UK: In a unique competition for the British public to turn their ideas into serious business propositions, the Geovation Challenge was launched today by Britain’s location and property data lab, Geovation. The challenge is specifically interested in making businesses out of ideas that can create greener, smarter communities for future generations to live in.
Innovate UK and the Northumbrian Water Group are backing and sponsoring the challenge. They will also be assisting the team of experts on an intensive three-day camp that will help those whose ideas have been identified as potentially having the greatest impact develop their ideas to the next stage whereby they’re ready to seek funding.
Dr Chris Parker, Geovation Challenge Manager, says: “It doesn’t matter if you are eighteen or eighty, so long as your idea can help transform for the better the way we live. For that you will receive our backing and support to help turn that idea into a viable business. Geovation has a proud history of helping create sustainable businesses that have been designed to help the needs of society.
The best resource in this country is its people, and there must be millions of untapped good ideas out there. Some of those ideas if enacted could even have profound lasting effects that help us become a happier, healthier, more robust and resilient nation. And we are here to try and make that happen.”
