Training rocket is successfully launched in Alcantara (MA)

The Alcântara Launch Center (CLA), Maranhão, Brazil, successfully held on Friday (9) the launch of the tenth Intermediate Training Rocket (FTI) within the Operation Águia 1 – 2014. With favorable climate conditions throughout the day, the launch occurred at 15h08, Brasilia Time, following the estimated trajectory parameters.

The operation Águia 1, started on last April 28, and it is performed by CLA, a military organization subordinate to the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), and supported by the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB).

The operation was also supported by the Navy of Brazil (MB), the Department of Airspace Control (Decea) and Air Operations Command (Comgar), through the Second Air Force (II FAE) and the 1st Regional Air Command (I Comar) with the participation of flight squadrons: 1st ETA (transport aircraft C -98), 3 °/ 7 ° GAv (patrol aircraft P -95) and 1°/8° GAv (helicopter H -36).
