MapInfo Corporation has announced the Sustainable Energy Authority in Victoria, Australia will use its interactive mapping software to chart Victoria’s renewable energy resources and generators including wind, geothermal, hydro, wave and tidal, and map information about Victorian Government initiatives to accelerate sustainable energy. The new technology based on MapInfo Exponare, will help the Sustainable Energy Authority increase the quality and accessibility of information about Victoria’s renewable energy resources. This will be used to encourage appropriate renewable energy development across the state. In addition, all Victorians will be able to access information about a range of Victorian Government initiatives and accelerate the uptake of sustainable energy.
The move to ‘Exponare Enquiry’ and ‘Exponare Public’ mapping software aims to benefit both internal and external stakeholders who will now have easy access to detailed information about renewable energy resources and other government initiatives such as the solar hot water rebate and photovoltaic rebate. The Sustainable Energy Authority was established to provide a focus for sustainable energy in Victoria, including energy efficiency and renewable energy.
