As a part of its ongoing operations to keep pace with the rapidly growing standards of service levels, Elcome technologies, has established The Elcome House – a world-class facility equipped with the state of art infrastructure – at Gurgoan’s InfoCity.
The facility was launched on 6th April 2004 by Mr. Amitabha Pande, Joint Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, and by Mr. Clement Woon, President, Survey & Engineering Division, Leica Geosystems. Over a hundred professionals belonging to the various streams of surveying, mapping, GIS and academic institutions participated in the event. The participants also included, Dr. P. Nag, the Surveyor General of India, Brig. Shiv Kumar from DST, Chief Hydrographer Admiral Wasan, Brig. Nagarajan from Survey of India. In addition, Mr. Walter Mittelholzer, President, Leica Geosystems, Metrology Division and Mr. Joerg Keller, Vice President, Leica Geosystems, Survey & Engineering Division were also there to witness the event.
With a vision to provide “ the Works” to the SAARC region for maintenance and support of cartographic, navigation and industrial measurement solutions, Elcome house has been equipped with the most modern calibration lab, supplementing the service centre. The calibration process and tools are handled by certified and trained engineers who have been serving the business community for a long time now.
One of the most important facets of the project, says the company’s release, is to give the employees a place to work that they had envisaged. The facility has been designed to encourage seamless information flow and free exchange of ideas and thoughts. Impressive spacious ergonomic workstations add to the comfort of working executives.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Amitabha Pande commended the Elcome’s efforts in ‘providing a boost to the geographical information industry in the country”. The introduction of Universal Surveying System 1200, of Leica Geosystems that combines GPS and TPS and is claimed to be the first of its kind in the world, also marked the event.
Elcome Technologies, a part of Elcome Group, provides business support to Leica Geosystems AG, Kinemetrics Inc. and DAT/EM Systems International of USA, Amberg Measuring Technique of Switzerland. The company also deals with utility navigation solution companies like Magellan from USA, Novatel Inc. from Canada, Applanix Corporation from Canada and DMT from Germany.
