The Colombian Spatial Data Infrastructure launches its first forum
The Geographic Institute Agustín Codazzi (IGAC), as coordinator of the Colombian Spatial Data Infrastructure (ICDE), in development of the group for Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Colombian Space Commission (CEC), prepares the first “Geospatial Information Management Trends” forum, to be held 29 and 30 May, in the city of Bogotá, in AR Hotel Salitre.
The forum is intended for directors, coordinators, professionals and technologists from different disciplines which have influence in Geospatial Information management activities as a planning tool in territories.
“The first ICDE forum responds to the growing demand for more and better geospatial information. The big goal is is to make the information producing entities provide the selected data required for everyone in the world according to particular needs, ensuring that they must be well defined and understood in the same way, so the ICDE works to achieve the standardization of this information”, explains Edna Piedad Cubillos, head of the IGAC’s CIAF Office.
The exchange of ICDE experiences, which will take place in this forum, is looking to breaking down barriers. Thus, the forum’s development includes the participation of Governmental Organizations (UN) and countries such as Spain, Mexico, Chile and Uruguay, as well as national and local experiences. The programme is available on the page www.icde.org.co.
