Gurgaon, India: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) rolled out a surveying project for the Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), India. The surveying data will be used to prepare digital maps of the state, which will help the HIPA in dealing with natural or man-made disasters.
The digitisation of maps will help authorities in studying the issues, which could cause a disaster in the particular cities and districts. The state government has already constituted district disaster management committees and they have representations from all departments concerned.
Moreover, in every district the nodal officials have been appointed. Moreover, digital maps will be available online to tackle natural disasters.
