Sydney Ports releases 3D imagery of harbour

Australia: The Syndey Ports recently released 3D imagery of its ports which revealed several astounding details including drowned car, shipwrecks and 45m-deep holes, reported Sydney’s Daily Telegraph.

Source: TelegraphMonitoring the bottom of the harbour was undertaken by four hydrographic surveyors using an A$750,000 multi-beam echo sounder to ensure shipping lanes and berths are free of obstacles that might disrupt water traffic on Port Jackson.

Installed on a tri-hulled motor boat, the echo sounder created 3D digital maps of the harbour floor by firing 512 separate sonar rays into the water.
