Sussex County adopts GIS mapping

US: Sussex County, Delaware, US, has introduced a new virtual map in an effort to help the public better understand use in the area. The Sussex County Mapping Applications portal is a GIS based product that brings a variety of information together on a maps, which can be posted on the county website for public access. The maps offer up-to-date zoning information, flood zones, 911 addresses, election district, school districts, library locations and other data. Sussex County officials believe that the new system is a comprehensive, user-friendly service that will produce more up-to-date information than the previous system. The officials also plan to key in symbols to represent pending land use applications for more than 160,000 parcels in the county.
