Indore, India, August 18, 2007: Indore will be among the few cities of the country where GIS technology is being implemented wherein all the available infrastructure of the city its property, roads, water, sewage lines, main holes etc. can be identified separately on the map after this survey is completed. Ward corporator and the member of Mayor-in-council, Anil Bindal informed that all the necessary preparations have been made to star field survey of this ward.

For this purpose DGPS survey will be carried out at as many as 42 places in the city. Corporation sources informed that the city will soon have computerized geographical map which will be based on GIS technology. Presently, the survey work will be started in ward No. 61. Mrs Ispect System Private Limited has been given contract for carrying out survey in this ward.

After completion of survey work in ward No. 61, the GIS map of remaining 68 wards will also be prepared and the same will be connected with software which will enable the city people to have a geographical system to monitor an manage physical infrastructure in their respective localities.
