Taiwan: SuperGeo Technologies released the latest generation of its desktop GIS system, SuperGIS Desktop 3. Compared with SuperGIS Desktop 2.x, SuperGIS Desktop 3 offers more powerful processing capabilities and also supports Windows 7. The company claims that it can improve the working efficiency of users by around 20%.

Now, the company has received a contract from the Taipei City Government to develop a WebGIS application to integrate traffic data from dissimilar resources. It will provide real time traffic information. The application will be based on SuperWebGIS, the Internet Map Server. In addition to web browser, traffic information will be accessible on mobile phones and PDAs. The road incident reports can be received through emails or SMS as well.
