StreetSmart 6.0 with TIGER 2005 data now available

North Carolina, USA, 15 September 2006: The TIGER based base mapping data product, StreetSmart version 6.0 from Meridian GeoSystems is now available with TIGER 2005 data. The US Census Bureau is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in modernizing TIGER.

StreetSmart is delivered with more than 80 layers of enhanced data and also includes all of the shaded relief and land-use imagery from Meridian’s Terrain Plus product. StreetSmart is available in MapInfo format.

New features include: Tiled by state; Available in MapInfo .tab file format; Full address information included with every street segment, including alternate names; The StreetSmart Installer program is included, allowing users to select the layers and geographies; Over 80 layers are included in the full Roads and Boundaries product. This includes almost all of the 2002 and 2005 census boundaries, plus a number of national, smaller scale datasets such as federally owned lands, 108th Congressional districts, precipitation regions, lakes and hydrography, highways, etc. Mapinfo Workspaces and Arcview Projects are also included.
