STL releases 20m resolution DEM and Clutter for 35 Nigerian cities for the Wireless and Telecomunication Industry

Nigeria, 24 April 2007: STL announced the release of 20m resolution clutter and DEM mapping data for over 35 cities across Nigeria. These datasets will become useful to the telecommunication and Wireless Industry in Nigeria especially in Transmission and RF Planning.

For rural areas, STL employed the supervised classification technique while producing the clutter. For all urban areas, manual photo interpretation technique was used. All 15 classes of the clutter data are carefully defined to meet RF engineering requirements in telecom.

The cities include,Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Portharcourt, Onitsha, Owerri, Aba, Kano, Kaduna, Lokoja, Ife, Zaria, Epe, Benin City, Asaba, Onitsha, Warri, Calabar, Uyo, Maidugury, Sokoto, Minna, Ilorin, Badagry, Jalingo, Bauchi, Makurdi, Yola, Jos, Gausau,Abakaliki, Umuahia, Ilorin, Abeokuta,Eket, etc.

Data compatible with the following formats: Aircom ASSET, Planet EV, Pathloss, ESRI, MapInfo etc.
