Star Informatic supports Open Spatial Enterprise

Star Informatic, the European vendor of spatially-enabled applications aimed at land and network managers announces its commitment to the Open Spatial Enterprise approach for the native storage of data in Oracle Spatial and Locator format for both Oracle9i and Oracle Database 10g.

More precisely, the latest release of the highly successful STAR ELEC suite of applications for the power industry, now proposes a native interaction (without any middleware involved) with Oracle Spatial for the storage and management of vector, raster, attribute and text data.

Non-spatial data consistently being stored with an open spatial enterprise method will also be accessible by vendors that share this approach. Conversely, STAR ELEC will now be in a position to address databases established in Oracle Spatial by these vendors.
