US: Springer is launching a new journal, Applied Geomatics, which will be the official publication of the Italian Society of Photogrammetry and Topography (SIFET). After the appearance of the first issue in April 2009, the journal will be available free of charge on www.springerlink.com throughout 2009 and 2010.
Dr. Chris Bendall, Publishing Editor, Earth Sciences at Springer, said, “Applied Geomatics will provide a useful forum for professional and academic scientists involved in the exciting, growing field of geomatic science and technology. Springer is pleased to be working with the Italian Society of Photogrammertry and Topography and we look forward to a productive association. Through the Society’s generous sponsorship, the online version of the journal will be provided free to readers for the first two years of publication.”
Applied Geomatics will cover all aspects of scientific and technical advances in the geomatic sciences. Professor Alessandro Capra of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has been appointed Editor-in-Chief.
