Spescom Software, Inc. a provider of enterprise content and configuration management solutions, announced the City of Lancaster, California in US has purchased Spescom eB® content management software solution for its City Clerk and Building & Safety departments. The deal is valued at approximately $300,000. Located in Southern California, the City of Lancaster is approximately 95 square miles with a population of approximately 129,000. Some 200 employees manage the city’s seven departments: Administration, City Clerk, Community Development, Finance, Human Resources, Parks, Redevelopment, and Public Works. eB will initially be implemented in the Public Works Department as the first phase of an enterprise plan to enable all departments with eB throughout the city government. The Public Works Department includes the Engineering, Building & Safety, Maintenance and Transportation Divisions. eB provides systematic control over the life cycle of recorded information whether created internally or acquired from external sources, or in the form of paper records, data in electronic databases, graphics, maps or drawings. eB will enable the Building & Safety permitting process to become a paperless function. The benefits to the City Clerk’s office include enhanced operational efficiencies as City users and the general public will be able to access relevant and accurate information more quickly than currently possible, improving productivity and customer service.
