October 28, 2002 – SPATIALinfo, a specialist supplier of network and spatial information solutions, and its customer, Communications Construction Group, Inc. (CCG), one of the leading providers of construction services, network design and engineering services, today announced a successful conclusion of the first phase of an As Built and Construction Reporting System that enables rapid capture of as-built data as well as enhanced reporting capabilities to the Cable and Broadband industry. This first phase will be expanded to include a variety of design sources.
A series of benchmark tests were conducted comparing previous processes utilized, to the new processing using software provided by SPATIALinfo. The tests, conducted by CCG staff, analyzed the tracking of a major construction project for a leading MSO.
“We were impressed with efficiencies demonstrated in counting of as built quantities during our exhaustive tests,” said Rick Pieper, President of CCG. “We measured improvements that proved that labor efforts to count information on as-built data are substantially reduced using SPATIALinfo software. An even more dramatic measure was the ability to immediately report on the data collected. This represents orders of magnitude of improvement in the ability for us now to report on this data to our customers in an accurate and timely fashion.”
