Spatial Technologies has announced that it will offer 1000 licences of GIS software worth about Rs 50 crore to governments and organisations which have demonstrated exemplary
e-governance initiatives to enrich rural life. The offer is an attempt to benefit governments which are proactive on use of technology in e-government initiatives but who are constrained to afford critical technology. The offer is open not only in India but also in the entire Afro-Asian region. The company has constituted a panel comprising jurists, public servants, scientists and academicians who will shortlist the eligible governments and organizations. The selection of organisations will be made after a presentation of their project plans to the panel.
