US – Spatial Insights is pleased to offer the Retail Clinic Address Database from Merchant Medicine. Retail clinics are a new model of health care facility opening in neighborhood pharmacies and other high-traffic retail outlets nationwide. Driven by consumer demand, the accessible and affordable “mini-clinics” are expected to expand rapidly in the coming years to meet the growing need for routine, non-emergency medical care. Merchant Medicine collects and maintains the location data, while Spatial Insights creates added utility for GIS and mapping software users.
The data have been precision geocoded, and by leveraging the newly added geographic component of the data, clients of both Spatial Insights and Merchant Medicine can easily visualize and analyze the distribution and characteristics of retail clinics in their mapping and GIS applications. The data attributes also include ownership, hours of operation, and contact information for each retail clinic.
“Access to health care is a critical issue that has a strong location component. Providing GIS-ready Retail Clinic locations will be of great use to our clients that are involved with health care demand modeling and site selection“, said Don Segal, president of Spatial Insights.
“The retail clinic market is exploding,” said Tom Charland, CEO of Merchant Medicine. “Within three years we’ve gone from less than 50 retail clinics in a small number of markets to 1,000 clinics in just about every one of the top 50 metro areas in the country.”
Compatible with all database, desktop mapping and GIS systems, Merchant Medicine’s Detailed Retail Clinic Address Database is available on a nationwide basis, with annual, semi-annual or quarterly updates.
