It causes duplication of efforts. Now, the Ministry of Lands and Land Development has proposed to set up a national programme through a separate unit. This unit will be established in the ministry’s Survey Department. The ministry aims at developing a reliable geospatial information platform, which could exactly indicate the geographic location of a natural or constructed feature in the country. The Cabinet has given approval to the programme. It has also appointed a monitoring committee.
