Pennsylvania, US: AccuWeather.com introduced SkyGuard Online, an interactive mapping system that uses the ArcGIS 10 Enabled technology to help businesses track how weather will impact their operations.

“SkyGuard Online is an easy to use, web-based solution requiring no installation or support – our customers can use it immediately,” said Paul Raymond, Director, SkyGuard Division. “Delivered all on one screen, our meteorologists provide accurate, comprehensive, and customised weather data and warnings that are specific to our customers’ sites. Our customers use that information to proactively plan and make informed decisions about weather’s impact on their business operations.”

Translated into visually compelling animations and illustrations, SkyGuard Online integrates each customer’s assets with all manner of weather. This includes current conditions, forecasts and severe weather warnings, such as lightning, flooding, tornados, hail, wind and tropical storm and hurricane forecasts with impact forecasts for the North American hurricane basins.

Each SkyGuard Online customer receives a password protected and secure web portal that is personalised to their locations and selected services. Customers may upload their own data or AccuWeather can upload the information on their behalf.

In addition to the complete SkyGuard Online turnkey solution, AccuWeather also provides the accurate, comprehensive and customised weather data and warnings as GIS data so that customers may integrate it into their own system.

SkyGuard Online is part of AccuWeather’s suite of SkyGuard products. SkyGuard provides accurate, local, customised, proactive and personalised weather information – all designed to enable organisations to protect their people, property, and profits.
