US: Sentinel Offender Services and GTL have announced that they have teamed up to collaborate on advancements in the areas of offender tracking and monitoring technology.

GTL offers best-of-breed corrections technology, payment services, and educational solutions to a broad set of customers, ranging from corrections and community corrections to government and law enforcement. GTL’s innovative offender monitoring solution, Guardian, is used by probation, parole, and community corrections professionals to supervise low- to mid-risk offenders. Guardian is the most robust smartphone-based offender tracking program on the market with multiple detection, interaction, and reminder features.

Sentinel provides comprehensive, customizable, and scalable case management and offender management services that include hardware, software, support from local community-based personnel, and best-in-class 24/7/365 monitoring capabilities. Sentinel offers its customers an array of GPS, RF, and alcohol monitoring hardware and web-based electronic monitoring and tracking platforms to help them more effectively and efficiently manage their offender populations.

Through this collaboration, GTL will offer the Sentinel suite of offender tracking and monitoring products and Sentinel will offer Guardian. This will allow both companies to provide a wide range of services to corrections, probation, parole, and community corrections agencies that pertain to the entire cycle of incarceration from initial arrest through probation and parole.

“Teaming with Sentinel highlights GTL’s dedication to expanding our community corrections offerings and provides agencies with the monitoring solutions that they need to efficiently and effectively manage probationers and parolees,” said Dan Burgess, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, GTL. “With more inmates going back into mainstream society, agencies need tools to help with rehabilitation and reintegration, and the combined offerings of GTL and Sentinel will provide that assistance.”

“We are thrilled about our growing relationship with GTL and what it brings to Sentinel and our customers,” said Mark Contestabile, Chief Business Development Officer, Sentinel. “The combination of GTL and Sentinel allows our customers to benefit from the Guardian solution while providing GTL customers direct access to Sentinel’s suite of electronic monitoring technologies. This partnership allows us to introduce new technologies and solutions to our customers through our SentinelDNA web-based monitoring platform. The immediate future is exciting for all of us as we collaborate on technology advancements and new product development.”

The offender management and tracking products offered by Sentinel and GTL aid in re-entry by fostering enrollee freedom, trust, and independence. They also provide case managers a simple solution that is customizable, controllable, and reportable.
