France: Airbus Defence and Space’s Sentinel-5 Precursor satellite has entered into the testing phase. The satellite is travelling from the United Kingdom to France for final system-level testing before its launched next year. Sentinel-5 is also a part of the ESA’s Copernicus global monitoring programme. The satellite is equipped with a TROPOMI atmospheric chemistry instrument. This would allow Sentinel-5 to take measurements of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, methane and other pollutants at a higher resolution than previous instruments. So, the satellite would enable improved climate models, and help in safeguarding the civil population and managing risks.
