Schneider Corporation establishes TransGIS

Sep 19, 2002 Schneider Corporation has announced the expansion of its GIS solutions through the establishment of TransGIS.

TransGIS, a group of related products and services, broadens the user base for local government GIS by incorporating solutions for transportation infrastructure management through enhancement of existing GIS data. TransGIS is a logical addition to Schneider’s GIS offering that will assist municipalities and counties with services such as management of their infrastructure assets, E911 mapping implementation and maintenance, and school bus routing.

Benefits realized by Schneider clients will include integration of GIS into transportation issues through visualization and analysis of situations like locating a new road or displaying emergency incidents on maps, leveraging the investment in GIS through departmental sharing of data, creating “what if” scenarios, and ultimately saving time and money by avoiding duplication of data collection.
