Moscow, Russia, 18 May 2007: On May 18th ScanEx announced that an infrastructure for quick ordering and reception at own ground receiving stations of the leading world Remote Sensing operators is created in Russia. Real-time processing enables to receive finished products with minimum time delay (from 0.5 to several hours) after acquisition for crucial decision-making in natural disasters emergency response.
In the infrastructure network SPOT, IRS, EROS, RADARSAT-1 satellites images are used to monitor the areas, damaged by floods. It is noticeable that RADARSAT-1 is providing important data at the resolution of 8-10 m required to carry out weather applications.For fire monitoring, TERRA and AQUA satellites data are used after real-time processing and end-products presentation via on-line Internet access (EOStation services: https://eostation.irk.ru/ and .
In spring of 2007 ScanEx center together with BaikalInformCenter (Irkutsk) have already prepared operational imagery of the floods in Kaluga Region on Ugra River (March-April), in Bashkortostan on Belaya River (April-May), as well as of forest fires in Siberia (May).
