US: Sanborn has recently revealed that many of its veteran pilots have completed their training in unmanned aircraft system (UAS) and are now qualified to fly company's UAS for commercial purposes. The decision came after the Federal Aviation Administration gave Sanborn their consent to exempt from the Section 333 to commercially operate a UAS, last year. The company, however, has already completed its various commercial UAS data collection projects. Besides this, it also adds a number of test flights to validate the system's geospatial data collection capabilities. "Our pilots are among the most nation's most skilled at performing complex mapping missions. Their vast knowledge and experience will seamlessly transfer to our UAS operations, putting Sanborn at the forefront of offering exceptional UAS services anywhere in the United States." said Sanchit Agarwal, Director of Sanborn mapping operations.
