Sanborn CEO, John Copple has announced that the company has combined technical services with American Forests to jointly market Urban Ecosystem Analysis (UEA). The partnership allows Sanborn and American Forests to work together to provide communities with data and tools that improve their environmental conditions while lowering the cost of managing air and water issues.

Sanborn, a GIS and photogrammetric services provider, and American Forests, the nation’s nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization, have established a strategic partnership to fulfill the growing need for a technical service that unlocks the potential of a community’s natural capital (trees and other green infrastructure) as non-structural stormwater management devices and as air and water quality resources. The technique creates an accurate map of a community’s land cover, calculates the value of the work performed by trees and other green infrastructure, and provides community leaders with decision support material and software tools for using the data to support future projects.
