Safe Software releases FME Suite 2003

Safe Software has announced the immediate availability of FME Suite 2003. FME Suite 2003 is an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tool for spatial data that makes it easy for organizations to translate, transform, share and enhance their data between over 100 GIS, CAD, and database formats.

Key new additions in FME 2003 mean that users can now easily merge large numbers of datasets, write to SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), and reference a completely reworked on-line help system. Expanded format support now includes reading Autodesk Map Object Data and OS MasterMap V2 Address Layer, along with improved handling of generic XML and GML 2.1. This release also includes SDE versioning support and a .NET interface for FME Objects.

FME consists of three main components: a translator, a transformation editor, and a viewer. FME Suite also includes developer tools and coordinate conversion support.

The FME Suite 2003 software bundle is available for Windows XP, 2000, NT 4.0 (SP6+), Sun SPARC Solaris 8, 7, and 2.6, HP-UX 11, IBM RS/6000 AIX 4, and Red Hat Linux 6.2 Intel. Pricing includes the first year of maintenance.
