RockWare, Inc., a developer and reseller of earth science software applications has announced an updated version of RockWorks2002 that allows the direct import of shapefiles. This addition will further allow RockWorks2002 users to take advantage of the shapefile format and its widespread use for base-mapping applications. Users of RockWorks can now import features such as sitemap locations; oil and gas wells; mine boundaries; local, state, and county data.
The addition of the 2D shapefile import tool complements the previous addition of a 3D shapefile export completed last November. This latest development underscores RockWare’s commitment to developing software that interfaces easily with industry standards. RockWare will continue to listen to its users and attempt to provide them the tools they need to complete their projects quickly and easily. Other RockWorks features include; OpenGL 3D Graphics, a new data management system, a new borehole manager and many other tools that make it the most complete subsurface modeling package on the market today. RockWorks runs in Windows98/NT/2000/XP and is available with both single-user and network licenses.
