Brazil: Researchers at the Federal University of Sao Paulo (UNIFESP) in Brazil are mapping the geographic distribution of genetic auto inflammatory diseases in Sao Paulo.

The project is aimed at understanding the geographic pattern of the diseases. This will further help in providing the necessary healthcare services in the most affected areas. “The project will directly benefit patients in the state. It will help in controlling the spread of auto inflammatory diseases,” said Dr Maria Teresa Terreri, Associate Professor, Division of Rheumatology, Department of Pediatrics UNIFESP. The project is being run with the help of the leading drug manufacturing company Novartis
