Reliance Energy selects ESRI technology for AM/FM/GIS implementation in Mumbai and Delhi

Reliance Energy Limited (REL), formerly known as BSES, has placed an order on ESRI India for implementation of AM/FM/GIS based on ArcFM software from Miner & Miner, an ESRI Business Partner.

ESRI India, ESRI and Miner & Miner will implement an Enterprise GIS solution for utilities to meet REL requirements. The solution will be based on Utility GIS products like ArcFM, Designer, Conduit Manager, Network Adapter and Responder from Miner & Miner and from ESRI like ArcSDE, ArcIMS and ArcGIS Schematics. The project will be done in phases by a team comprising consultants from ESRI India, ESRI and Miner & Miner.

The first phase will include the base implementation, developing customized tools/extensions and interfacing with existing systems. Custom tools creation for REL will include tools and/or custom extensions like Inside Plant, Energy Audit Analysis, Cable routing, Assignment and optimization of meter reading routes, street light functions etc. GIS will interface with the CIS (Consumer Information System), SCADA and Network Analysis Systems of REL. In Phase II, REL will implement the Outage Management System (OMS) based on Responder from Miner & Miner. The OMS will interface with the CIS and IVR systems.

Initially, the GIS system will be deployed at Reliance Energy Mumbai and Delhi.
