Philippines: Crime incidence in the Cordillera Administrative Region dipped by six percent compared to last quarter, in recent reports posted by the National Statistical Coordination Board. Police Regional Office-Cordillera regional director Benjamin Magalon during National Crime Prevention Week activities said the region’s police have been implementing crime validation in their precincts to ensure the quality of data presented through its GIS-based crime analysis.

Through GIS-Based crime analysis, Magalong said the region’s police will be able to identify crime hotspots and provide additional police personnel in these areas to protect the safety of residents and their properties. This is among many other benefits of the technology-driven improvement in crime prevention.
