Doha, Qatar: The cabinet met under the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani approved the hosting of the ‘Second High-Level Forum on Geospatial Information Management’ in Doha during February 4 – 6, 2013.
The United Nations Initiative on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN GGIM) in association with the Government of Qatar, through its Ministry of Municipal and Urban Planning and Qatar Statistical Authority, will host the Second High Level Forum. It will function as an open forum that brings together government representatives from all member states as well as interested stakeholders from non-governmental organisations, academia and the private sector, to address and discuss critical and cutting-edge issues on global geospatial information management.
The First High level Forum was held in Seoul, during October 25-28, 2011, jointly organised by the GGIM Secretariat of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the Government of the Republic of Korea.
