PSI AG has been awarded by the Dutch distribution network operator Enexis with providing a network control system for monitoring and control of the medium voltage network. The two existing systems for the northern and southern grid will be replaced by a spatially distributed PSIcontrol.
Enexis decided on PSIcontrol because of the scalability and the modularity provided. The network operator will then be optimally positioned for the future. The overriding goal at Enexis is to further automate the medium voltage network and thereby minimise the disruption periods in the grid. The new control system provides the basis for this. To optimally use the new system, it will, to a large degree, be integrated with the existing Geographic Information System (GIS) and the SAP solution.
Enexis, headquartered in Rosmalen, is the largest distribution network operator in the Netherlands. The area supplied, including the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Noord-Brabant and Limburg, comprises a good one-third of all the inhabitants of the Netherlands. The company is responsible for the construction, maintenance and monitoring and control of the distribution networks for these provinces.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety.
