July 23,2002-Intergraph New Zealand Limited, a subsidiary of US-based Intergraph Corporation has announced that PowerNet Limited has successfully completed the data conversion phase of its project to migrate its legacy GIS to G/Electric, Intergraph’s next-generation technology for electric geofacilities management. PowerNet serves more than 63,000 customers with a distribution network covering more than 12,000 km.
As a key component of PowerNet’s corporate information infrastructure, G/Electric will extend the company’s integration capabilities and maximize data usage, improving the company’s overall service standard and competitive market presence. G/Electric’s open architecture facilitates integration with PowerNet’s Asset Management System, providing a seamless workflow among applications that plan, construct, and maintain the company’s supply network.
Delivery of the completed G/Electric system is scheduled for Q4 of this year. The final project phase, expected to be complete by the end of Q1, 2003, will provide a suite of common electric applications.
