PlanGraphics, Inc.has been awarded a $685,000 contract to develop an urban construction management information system for the City of Chongqing, China, in a project funded by a World Bank loan. The project is part of a larger urban environment project to foster sustainable development by improving Chongqing’s urban infrastructure and sewage/waste disposal. Located on the upper Yangtze River, Chongqing is China’s seventh-largest city by population. For the Chongqing Solid Waste Corporation, PlanGraphics will develop a solid-waste management sub-system that will use GIS to provide spatial analyses and decision-support functions for sanitation management. PlanGraphics, founded in 1979, is a full life-cycle systems integration and implementation firm providing a broad range of services in the design and implementation of information technology in the public and commercial sectors.
